Mailing lists

Postby mr bump » 06 Apr 2012, 10:28

When Gm'ing a game there is a need to send the same message to all players and reserves on more than one occasion. e.g. a 24hr reminder for orders.

Being able to use a 'mailing list' would be useful but I cannot see that facility in the message system. I thought of saving a draft template and just keep using that, but of course players id's are not saved in the dratft message.

So what is the best way to keep a list of players with whom you regularly communicate without manually entering there names every time?

I put the names in a text-file, every username on a seperate line. Then you can just copy the textfile into the "to" field when composing a message.

One way is to type the list of recipients into a draft (one name to a line), title the drift something like "Gamename List", save the draft and, when you want to send them all a PM, copy the list and paste it into "recipients".

It is a shame that phpBB doesn't provide for mailing lists.
