Etiquette in UserName Selection

If there's a more appropriate location to post this query, please let me know.

I just observed a new user in the ChatBox with a UserName that I could live with, but find somewhere between annoying and offensive, and would prefer not to see.

• Are there any rules or guidelines for establishing UserNames? If so, where are those located, for future reference?

• Once a UserName is created, can it be changed by the user?

• Can the admins change a user's UserName by fiat?

Kids these days. When WE were young'uns, we didn't use those words. We said:

"Oh, fuuuuuuuuuuuUUUUUUUdge."

Actually, I never liked the F word. WHY the hell would you use the word for something great as a swearword?

"Oh, filet mignon!"

"Oh, ribeye!"

"Oh, lottery winnings!"

"Oh, baked potato that's golden brown around the edges, and topped with butter, sour cream and chives."

Hm. I gained several pounds just by writing that out.

according to the site rules a username can't involve profanity or obscenity... I believe it qualifies.
Having said that, isn't there some automated mechanism that slaps you on the wrist when you do this?

Yeah, putting a profanity in your name just shows that you give zero . . . fudges for other people.

Say it as it is guys: The username "fuckboy" is just WRONG. Mods - please address this issue!

If you find an inappropriate username, you can PM a mod and we will deal with it. Same goes for game names. The rules for this are linked at multiple places on the site web pages and in the Forum. Here is one more link.
