3. Questions should only request rules be clarified and not request advice about how to resolve a situation.
4. When answering a question, members should restrict themselves to answering the question and not give advice on how to get around the situation.

What are the best alternative rules/maps?

Postby MaxwellMiky » 06 May 2021, 14:41

I'd like to run a game with some friends- we have seven players, and a couple more who can hop in or team up with others.

Because of our players, we have several questions that all revolve around variant rules...

1: We're new to the game. Are there simpler introductory variants?

2: We love to roleplay. Are there variants with more character? (Your diplomat owns a plantation in BUR, you can't let that territory be captured!)

3: Once we learn the game, we'd like to explore more complexity. Are there advanced variants?

4: We like all kinds of settings. Are there sci-fi, contemporary, or other historical variants?

5: We like backstabbing. Are there variants with internal politics as well as external diplomacy?

6: We love moving lots of pieces around. Are there variants with more units? (yes, I realize this breusps tracking showbox speed test
aks the whole "support" concept if you can have five armies in one territory...)

There are all sorts of variants. Look in the Play By Forum folder in the forum. But these all need a GM to manage orders, unless you can find a way to synchronise reveals.
