Resign and return

Curious about this. Let's say you are in a game and one of your opponents resigns. Can you resign your position and take over the surrendered country if you think he or she has a better position?

No. Once you have surrendered you cannot enter to the same game.
(At least for ranked games. Friends games I don't know. )
