Start here! - Application Info Included

Hello, and welcome to the Classicists subforum!
Whether you are already a member, thinking about becoming one, or just browsing around, this is the right place to start. (If you are impatient, application info is included in post below this one).
Let me start off by giving you a little background information, in case you are wondering what the purpose of this place is. What I seek to do with the Classicists is create an unofficial group, a database, with stricter admission rules than the site itself that will allow for more consistent and rewarding games. Don't get me wrong, its great that people can play for free here, and it would be boring if we always had to play the same people over and over again, but I am sure many would agree with me that the best games come when your opponents don't NMR in Fall 1901. This is really meant as a casual group, and anyone who cares about Diplomacy can easily make it in. Though there is no mandatory commitment, we encourage members to participate in our events and everyone is welcome to help improve the group as a whole.
If you want a more formal definition, the Classicist Constitution, Section 1, contains the group's current mission statement.
The Constitution also details all the inner workings of the Classicists, if you are interested. If you want to apply, I highly recommend you read Sections 2 and 3 of the Constitution. If you want to help better the group, Section 5 should have all the details you need to get started. And, if you want to report a violation of our core values by a member, which unfortunately happens but must be dealt with, please read over Section 4. And last but not least, Section 6 deals with starting new events.
About the other primary threads in this subforum. The Events thread deals with Classicist events. The Membership thread contains the list of all the current Classicists and their respective tiers. The Classicist League Table thread contains a Classicist-only table which displays numerous stats on each player. The Constitution thread also keeps track of its amendments.
And if you have any questions or comments, feel free to post in the Comments/Questions thread.
That's all for now!
Raphtown.
