i like to think that in real life, a country that you just captured would not be down for fighting on your side immediately, but after you have occupied them for a good 2 or 3 years they might start to take a liking to you and will therefore start fighting on your side.

but who will work in your factories to make your tanks and all that other cool killing stuff? just because you own some factories doesn't mean you can run them.

People still need to work to eat.. A man that has been a welder his whole life knows nothing else... As long as he can work and provide for his family, whos to say he'll stop working? Is it worth it to see our family starve? This is the other thing to consider. In real life, there's more to consider for the average human being than the color of a flag.
