MaccCon Venue Announced

Good evening all!

The venue for MaccCon is now booked for Saturday 2nd March and Sunday 3rd March. For those of you not aware, this is a F2F Diplomacy event being held in Cheshire, UK. It is not a tournament, but if this relatively informal event is successful it is intended to evolve into a tournament in future iterations.

We are going to be at the Copper Room in the historic Charles Roe House https://www.facebook.com/TheCopperRoomCRH/

Old Charlie Roe was an important chap locally - here's something for the historians amongst you: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Roe

The room has plenty of space for several Dip tables, and is very atmospheric. It is in the centre of town, there's a posh café downstairs, lift access, it is within easy walking or taxi ride to the train station, Manchester airport and all local hotels and B&Bs, and most importantly of all it has its own bar!!

Please confirm your attendance to me on [email protected], or here: https://www.facebook.com/events/129191931323821/

Ideally we want at least two tables, so I need 14 confirmed players. I think we're at about 9 confirmed and a few more probable. I have committed ££ to this now, so I will lay the guilt trips on very heavily if anyone backs out... ;)

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Same here.

As for the tournament prospects: I'd prefer the classic Diplomacy over C-Diplomacy.

Cheers..

Afternoon all!

A quick update for you. Invitations have been sent to the Cambridge University Dip Society and London on Board board games club, so hopefully we'll get another couple of attendees out of those.

Does anyone know of any other clubs or societies that I could invite? I assume if Cambridge have a society then Oxford might too...

I forgot to reply to this, but I will be there.

@Phleg - please let me know if you need any further confirmation. I will chip in as well.
