Virtual WDC - December 18-20, 2020

Postby BillHack » 15 Nov 2020, 03:50

Registration is now open for the vWDC, an international, live Diplomacy tournament to be held from December 18-20, 2020.

5 TDs from North America, Europe, and the Indo-Pacific will host 6 qualifying rounds on Friday and Saturday. The top seven players will compete on a Top Board on Sunday, December 20th. (No one is expected to play 6 games in. 48 hour period ... players will only count their top three results and will be capped at 4 games total.)

This is shaping up to be the premier virtual Face-to-Face tournament of the year, and it is my sincere hope to see the PlayDip community well represented.

I wanted to encourage those on the fence about f2f play to join this tournament! Since I've restarted playing Diplomacy, I've really enjoyed f2f tournaments and these virtual events are a great way to meet a fun group of people and learn how to play with shorter timelines. You even get commentators to point out the highs and lows of each game to improve as a player -- you can decide for yourself if this is a good selling point ;)

Feel free to send me a message if you want more details or to just talk about the tournament structure.
