Intimate Diplomacy Tournament

http://www.variantbank.org/results/rules/i/intimate.htm

Is there anyone interested in playing this well known tournament variant?

Tournament mechanics:

It will be an elimination tournament, with the losers of the final two games playing for third, as well as the winners playing for first and second.

The next round won't begin until all games are finished.

If there is an odd number of players, then the player with the highest rank on the site will get a bye. If it happens more than once, then the second highest ranked will get a bye and so on. (no player will get more than one bye)

NMR rules:

If you fail to get your orders in, you will be eliminated, unless you had informed your GM that you would not be able to get the orders in 24 hours before the deadline.

If both players fail to get the orders in, then the game will be delayed by 24 hours, but if it happens a second time in the game, or orders are still not in at the end of the 24 hours, both players will be eliminated (in order to stop the tournament stopping due to delayed games)

Deadlines:

The deadlines will be 48/48/48/48 (the last phase being bidding.) If both players want to do shorter deadlines, then the GM of that game can decide whether to shorten the deadlines, and to what.

GM Request:

Depending on how many players we get, I will need some help GMing; if you are interested, please say how many games you can GM at a time and over all.
If you GM, you can still enter, but, for obvious reasons, you won't be GMing your own game.

GMs (number of possible games/total games):
Caladin (3+/∞)
Pedros

Players:
LogicCure
phillipsosophy

Hmm. Well you've piqued my interest. I have a feeling I won't make it far but I'll throw in my hat anyway. I'm good for as many games as needed.

I'll GM Caladin. Any idea when you're likely to start?

Not really. It depends on how many people we get.

Thanks.

I'll put you down as a possible.

(Btw, is it that you are going to disappear somewhere in 3-4 weeks, or you will be back in 3-4 weeks?)

If this thing starts to generate any interest then I might help to make up the numbers as well.
I will be running the London Marathon on 22nd April 2012 to raise funds to help disabled children and in memory of my darling wife who sadly passed away in January 2012.
