One major criticism of mine is the music. Strings and horns - and mainly chords.

Sadly, most movie-goers don't seem to care how badly the Potter legacy is damaged, as the film has apparently broken all box office records. (sigh) :(

The whole tom bombadil bit was missing, how dissapointing ;)
No, sriously, you're right, the movie does stray a lot further from the book than I would have liked, but I thought the performance of most of the younger actors was improved, it seems that their work on the side has paid off.
Oh, and i cant wait to see bruno!

I think several of the things the craw mentioned are going to be stitched onto the 7th film

The thing I am looking forward to in 7th film will be the epilouge
I hope they add to that a little even (maybe a marriage scene?)

The EPILOGUE???

(pardon the retching noise)

THAT (along with Beetle the Board) is the -only- thing I will probably ever complain about as far as Ms. Rowling's writing. The epilogue was unnecessary, and silly. Yes, I would like to see and/or read more, even a marriage scene, but not a hurried-up one or tacked onto the end like too much extra-sugary icing on a cake (Cake? blech!)

The eighth film (book 7 is being made into two films) should end with Harry wondering if Kreatcher will bring him a sandwich. Roll credits. Nuf said.

I avoided this thread until I had a chance to see the movie myself. And I have to be honest ... I liked it. A good bit actually. Now, I loved the books, and I could tell where the movie strayed. But that didn't cut into my enjoyment of it. If anything this movie was such a huge improvement over the 5th one that it looked great in comparison. Yeah, the whole Burrow fight threw me off, but there really wasn't another part to the movie that didn't make sense to me. Now, I'm going to wait to see when it comes out on DVD, but overall I was satisfied.

I agree. It could have been better, but it was good

I agree. It was a far better improvement to no 5, but still not as good as the first 2, which were, in my opinion, the only really good two. The film was enjoyable enough, I found, but I was pissed off at the fact that it missed out so many important parts from the book that I was hoping to see (which have been mentioned by the Craw.

It will interest me to see how they integrate this into the next film (or two films) because if they want it to follow at all what happened in the book then they will have a very tough time...
