Are there general resources concerning the game? For example, is there a blank map? Are there statistics on the performance over time of each country? Is there a facility for tracking individual players?

If you Googled Diplomacy map, you'd easily be able to find many different versions of the map, either blank, or with initial placements on them. (Or use the link Carebear provided).

There were an excellent series of three articles that I've read several times before which, although a few years old, are still excellent. I can't seem to find them now, but if I do, I'll update this post. For anyone reading this, the author had created a statistic sorting program called "FRIGATE" and used it to calculate several important statistics about Diplomacy, from the archives of Diplomacy games played up until that time. If anyone knows of these articles, or has the link, I'd be much obliged if you'd post.

Maybe they are on diplom.org? The site is supposedly down temporarily.
