Organising your Inbox

Postby Pedros » 05 Jun 2012, 11:24

Did you know that you can create up to 10 folders to keep your important Private Messages (PMs) organised? And make rules so that new messages that belong in them drop straight into them? Here's how:-

Creating the folders
  1. Go to your Inbox (or any other page of Private Messages)
  2. On the list of links on the left-hand side, just below "Unread messages", click "Rules, folders and settings"
  3. Under "FOLDER OPTIONS" use "Add folder" to type the name of the folder you want and click "Add". That's it, done.
  4. And when you want to delete it or rename it, those boxes are there as well.

    Putting mail there automatically
  5. Go to the same "Rules folders and settings" page
  6. Click "Add new rule"
  7. Follow the step by step options. Most useful are the ones where the title of the post contains a particular word or phrase - this would be "If subject is like 'Organising'" (for example) then "Place into" whichever folder you want it to use. That's it again, done!

I actually recently created folders for different people who play CYOC. Made life (and running my nation) so much easier...

Don't know what to tell you. It's exactly where Pedros' post says it is.

So the rule "If subject is like 'blah blah' put into folder X" means that if a subject has 'Blah blah' or 'blah' in it, it will be put into folder X?

What I'm trying to ask is, what exactly is the criteria for each rule? I mean, some of them are kind of confusing.

I was using "If sender is <player> place message in <folder>" but I realise that it doesn't work when you are in two different games with the same player. Any help?

Thanks.
